According to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families, the number of illegal children who enter US from the Mexican border will increase to nearly 60,000 by the end of fiscal year 2014. President Obama called this problem as an “Urgent Humanitarian Situation.” His plan to solve this problem needs almost $4 Billion that he has asked Congress for.
Some articles mention that president Obama’s Urgent Humanitarian plan is helping accompany children who entered US from Mexican border. Based on their report, Mr. Obama asked for $3.7 Billion to provide the children with medical treatment, food and mental health services.
However, other reports focused on the political side of the problem. They state the problem comes from Mr. Obama’s failure to keep the Mexican border safe. Republican senators told reporters that they couldn’t support Mr. Obama’s plan.
Social and immigration activists also pointed at “speed up deportation” children and families who illegally entered US.
